Americans

Bonjour my little friends, and how are we today?

I've mainly been running on 4 hours sleep and excessive amounts of coffee, so it is safe to say that life as a student is well under way!

Just to fill you in a little with the adventure that is University...I know it's late compared to the rest of the gang but hey, I always was strange.

We drove up Saturday, stopped at Costa (seriously, why does Nero not do service stations?!) and unpacked my things. I brought a LOT of stuff but fortunately there's some sneaky under bed storage because my bed is literally a mattress on a box made of chipboard. Needless to say my back is spazzing out a little about it.

So anyway, my room is vaguely blue themed and I brought with me lots of the silly things I keep at home, like origami birds and a lantern... I've dared to cover the walls in blue tack so some posters and things are displayed on my walls.

I'm living with lots of nice people, none as amazing as ANTONIA. :) I'd like to point out at this point that the draft of this was hacked. Still, none of them are Antonia. It's true.

We've done some fun things like visiting a pub in Camden, cooking together, going to Jason Derulo's birthday party and seeing the British Museum. I may have also spent a large amount of my loan on dresses. They're very pretty though!

I'm currently attempting to do some reading...the first I've began since arriving here. It's not going so well. Twenty pages in and my second cup of tea. I did washing up to keep myself awake...

Anyway, life is good, if not a little strange being in a new place. But, I like it here. It feels kind of like a home.

Au revoir and speak soon

Love x

PS - I am living with two gay american boys which has provided endless entertainment, and I've made good friends with an american girl downstairs too. They don't have beans on toast in the USA. WEIRD!

Solutions

Regarding tights and the dilemma that is poor elastic, my only suggestions are

1. Wear trousers
2. Frequently go to the toilet to raise those irritating stockings.

I'm not sure either of those are that helpful.

May I suggest today that we go and grab a coffee. We could discuss such problems and fill our bodies with caffeine. Otherwise my day will consist of sitting at home and watching tv on t'internet and feeling guilty cos I'm not doing anything productive.

Join me amigos.

Love xo

PS - Curly one, please can you add a counter button so we can see how many lovely people want to view our blog. Thaaaaanks!

questions of life

Why hello there, chaps and chapettes. How do?
I'd like to start my entries on this joint blog by introducing myself and posing you a question.

Soo I'm Antonia, a 20-something at uni studying psychology. In my spare time I like to flit between crafts - at the moment I'm on knitting things in giant wool (it's quicker).

I met the other authors of this fledgling blog at our all-girls school, which I think is part of the reason we're so close in our friendship..the other reason being of course that we are AWESOME :)
But I can't deny that being so long in the company of just girls has had some other long-lasting effects, so I'd like to ask V and S a question important for my development into pretending to be a normal person:

- how can I stop publicly hoisting up my tights when they subside? I don't think that it's as socially acceptable in 'real life'...

The Start

Two years ago, our group of girls left home and moved across the country for University, leaving Bournemouth behind. Three of us stayed to live out gap years, and I turned mine into a gap life, with another year at home, working as a volunteer student and youth worker at my church.

With life continuing in different cities across the country, from Durham to London, to Brighton, Liverpool or Southampton, we like to share what we're up to. Hence this blog was born...

After an evening full of food and Doctor Who, we have decided to blog collectively. I'd like to say it's due to our incredible wit and writing skill, but, realistically it could just be more that we need another way to splurge our mad ideas with one another...and maybe infect the rest of the world with 'crazy disease' too.

So, I am Vicki. Or Vock. I am 20 and about to move to London to study English Lit. I like notebooks and copious cups of tea.

The others can introduce themselves as they wish.

Babbling over, and time to go sew some bunting.
